Do तथा Does प्राथमिक सहायक क्रिया (Primary Auxiliary Verbs) तथा मुख्य क्रिया (Main Verbs) हैं। इनका प्रयोग सिंपल प्रेजेंट टेंस के Affirmative, Negative तथा Interrogative Sentences में होता है। जैसे;
- Do you know his address?
(क्या तुम उसका पता जानते हो?) - I do my work in the evening.
(मैं अपना काम शाम को करता हूं।) - She does not play cricket.
(वह क्रिकेट नहीं खेलती है।) - Does she ride her horse?
(क्या वह अपने घोड़े की सवारी करती है?) - What does it mean?
(इसका क्या मतलब है?) - Why do you not go for swimming on Sunday?
(तुम रविवार को तैरने क्यों नहीं जाते?)
Use of Do and Does in Hindi
Do और Do का प्रयोग Present Indefinite Tense के वाक्यों में main verbs और helping verbs के रूप में किया जाता है। Do तथा Does प्राथमिक सहायक क्रिया ‘To Do’ की forms हैं। इनका प्रयोग simple present tense के वाक्यों में होता है। जैसे;
1. I do my work on time.
मैं अपना काम समय पर करता हूं।
2. He does his work at 7 am.
वह सुबह 7 बजे अपना काम करता है।
3. We do not invite your brother.
हम आपके भाई को आमंत्रित नहीं करते हैं।
4. They do not have enough time.
उनके पास पर्याप्त समय नहीं है।
5. Do you want to clean your room?
क्या आप अपना कमरा साफ करना चाहते हैं?
6. Does she ever sing songs?
क्या वह कभी गाने गाती है?
7. Why does it not work?
यह काम क्यों नहीं करता है?
8. Who does not play this game?

Use of Do in Hindi
Do का प्रयोग auxiliary verbs तथा main verbs के रूप में second person pronouns, third person plural pronouns तथा first person pronouns के साथ होता है। Do का प्रयोग बहुवचन कर्ता (plural subjects) के साथ भी होता है। जैसे;
1. हम शाम को क्रिकेट नहीं खेलते हैं।
We do not play cricket in the evening.
2. मैं रात में अपनी कार नहीं चलाता।
I do not drive my car at night.
3. मेरे द्वारा यह हर रोज किया जाता है।
I do it everyday.
4. हम इसे सोमवार को करते हैं।
We do it on Monday.
5. वे रात में पढ़ाई नहीं करते।
They do not study at night.
6. लड़के अपना काम समय पर करते हैं।
The boys do their work on time.
7. क्या आप उसे पसंद करते हैं?
Do you like her?
8. क्या मैं आपको गाली देता हूं?
Do I abuse you?
9. आप इस नौकरी के लिए आवेदन क्यों नहीं करते?

Use of Does in Hindi
Does का प्रयोग auxiliary verbs तथा main verbs के रूप में third person singular pronouns तथा बहुवचन कर्ता (plural subjects) के साथ भी होता है।
1. उसे शतरंज खेलना पसंद नहीं है।
He does not like to play chess.
2. वह यहां बार-बार नहीं आती है।
She does not come here again and again.
3. मार्च में यहां बारिश नहीं होती है।
It does not rain here in March.
3. क्या वह विश्वविद्यालय में अंग्रेजी पढ़ता है?
Does he study English at the University?
4. जॉर्ज इस नौकरी के लिए आवेदन नहीं करना चाहता।
George does not want to apply for this job.
5. क्या आपके पिताजी रोज अखबार पढ़ते हैं?
