Past Perfect Tense in Hindi

Past Perfect Tense से उस कार्य या घटना का वर्णन करते हैं, जो बीते हुए समय में किसी निश्चित क्षण से पहले पूरा हो गया हो। Past perfect Tense के वाक्यों में दो कार्यों का वर्णन होता है। जिसमें एक कार्य पूर्ण भूतकाल का तथा दूसरा कार्य सामान्य भूतकाल का होता है। जैसे;

• तुम्हारे जाने से पहले राम आ चुका था।
• शाम तक रोहन गाय खरीद चुका था।
• मेरे पत्र लिखने से पहले वह आ चुका था।
• सोहन 2:00 बजे तक घर पहुंच चुका था।
• सोहन की स्टेशन पहुंचने से पहले गाड़ी छूट चुकी थी।

ऊपर दिए गए वाक्यों में से पहले वाक्य में दो कार्यों का वर्णन है। इस वाक्य में राम पहले आ गया था उसके बाद कोई दूसरा कार्य हुआ। दूसरे वाक्य में गाय खरीदने का काम रोहन के द्वारा पहले हुआ। उसके बाद दूसरा कार्य संपन्न हुआ। ऐसे ही बाकी के वाक्यों में यह दर्शाया जा रहा है कि किसी एक घटना के पूरा होने के बाद दूसरी घटना घटी है।

Past Perfect Tense की पहचान

Past Perfect Tense के हिंदी वाक्यों की क्रियाओं के अंत में चुका था चुकी थी, चुके थे, या था, ई थी, ये थे, आदि शब्द आते हैं तथा दो कार्यों का वर्णन होता है। ये वाक्य past perfect tense के कहलाते हैं। जैसे; मेरे आने से पहले रोहन खाना खा चुका था। तुम्हारे जाने के बाद उसने टीवी देखी।

• तुम्हारे आने से पहले सुमित पाठ पढ़ चुका था।
• उसके खाना खाने से पहले बरसात हो चुकी थी।
• डॉक्टर के आने से पहले मरीज दवा खा चुका था।
• आंधी आने से पहले बरसात नहीं हुई थी।
• सोहन के यहां रुकने से पहले पिताजी आ चुके थे।
• आपकी जाने के बाद उसने यह कहानी बतायी।
• मेरे सोने के बाद उसने टीवी देखी।

Note: यदि इंग्लिश में दिए गए Past Perfect Tense के वाक्यों को पहचाना हो तो वाक्यों में had + verb III का होना आवश्यक है। ऐसे वाक्य past perfect tense के होंगे, जिनमें मुख्य क्रिया की थर्ड फॉर्म तथा हेल्पिंग वर्ब had का प्रयोग हो।

Parts of Speech Exercises with answers

Helping Verb

Past Perfect Tense की Helping Verb ‘Had’ होती है। जो कार्य पहले समाप्त होते हैं उनके साथ पास्ट परफेक्ट टेंस में had का प्रयोग करते हैं तथा बाद में समाप्त होने वाले कार्य कार्य को simple past tense में करते हैं तथा इसकी सहायक क्रिया did होती है।

Main Verb

Past Perfect Tense के वाक्यों की Main Verb की III form प्रयोग करते हैं।

Note – पहले समाप्त होने वाले कार्य (action) को हम Past Perfect Tense में तथा बाद में समाप्त होने वाले कार्य को Past Indefinite Tense में बनाते हैं।‌

1. यदि वाक्य में ‘पूर्व’ या ‘पहले‘ शब्द आया हो तो –

Past Perfect Tense + before + Simple Past Tense

(Subject + had + verb III + object + other + before + subject + verb II + object + other)

2. यदि वाक्य में ‘बाद’ या ‘पश्चात‘ शब्द आया हो तो –

Simple Past Tense + after + Past Perfect Tense

(Subject + verb II + object + other + before + subject + had + verb III + object + other words)

Affirmative Sentences of Past Perfect Tense (साधारण वाक्य)

हिंदी वाक्यों के Affirmative Sentences का अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद करते समय ध्यान रखें कि वाक्य में पूर्व या पहले/बाद या पश्चात शब्द आते हैं, वाक्य का अनुवाद उन्हीं शब्दों के बाद वाक्य से शुरू करते हैं।

नीचे दिए गए उदाहरणों को समझें, रंग के अनुसार sentence को translate किया गया है –

• मेरे जाने से पहले वह सो चुका था।
  He had slept before I went.
• मेरे पत्र पढ़ने से पहले पिताजी आ चुके थे।
  Father had come before I read the letter.
• तुम्हारे जाने के बाद माताजी ने खाना पकाया।
  Mother cooked the food after you had gone.
• उसके स्टेशन पहुंचने के बाद गाड़ी आई।
  The train came after you had reached the station.

12. 7:00 बजे तक मेहमान आ चुके थे।
The guests had come by seven o’clock.

13. वह यह खबर पहले ही सुन चुका था।
He had already heard this news.

14. इस महीने के अंत तक वह एक नई कार खरीद चुका था।

15. चाय के समय तक पिताजी आ चुके थे।

Negative Sentences of Past Perfect Tense नकारात्मक वाक्य

यदि नकारात्मक वाक्य में पहले या पूर्व शब्द आए तो निम्नलिखित स्ट्रक्चर के अनुसार वाक्य का अनुवाद करते हैं –

1. गाड़ी छूटने से पहले मोहन स्टेशन पर नहीं पहुंचा था।
Mohan had not reached the station before the train started.

2. तुम्हारे जाने से पहले पिताजी नहीं आए थे।
Father had not come before you went.

3. उसके आने से पहले माताजी ने खाना नहीं पकाया था।
Mother had not cooked the food before he came.

4. मोहन के पुस्तक पढ़ने से पहले उसका भाई नहीं सोया था।
His brother had not slept before Mohan read the book.

5. तुम्हारे जाने से पहले मैं तुम्हें नहीं मिला था।
I had not met you before you went.

6.  सोहन के जाने से पहले पिताजी पूजा कर नहीं कर चुके थे।
Father had not worshipped before Sohan left.

7. तुम्हारे पत्र लिखने से पहले मास्टर जी नहीं आ चुके थे।
The teacher had not come before you wrote a letter.

8. उनके फुटबॉल खेलने से पहले कोच नहीं जा चुके थे।
The coach had gone before he played football.

9. मोहन के फूल तोड़ने से पहले माली नहीं आ चुका था।
The gardener had not come before Mohan plucked flowers.

10. श्याम के गाना गाने से पहले लोग तालियां नहीं बजा चुके थे।
People had not applauded before Shyam sang the song.

यदि नकारात्मक वाक्य में बाद या पश्चात वाले शब्द आए तो निम्नलिखित स्ट्रक्चर केेेे अनुसार वाक्य अनुवाद बनाते हैं।

1. तुम्हारे जाने के बाद मैंने उसे नहीं देखा।
I did not see him after you had gone.

2. उसके यहां पहुंचने के बाद पिताजी नहीं गए थे।

3. नेता जी के भाषण देने के बाद लोग नहीं गए थे।
People did not go after the leader had delivered the speech.

4. डॉक्टर के जाने के बाद मरीज नहीं मारा था।
The patient did not die before the doctor had gone.

5. आंधी आने के बाद बरसात नहीं हुई।
It did not rain after the storm had come.

Other Negative Sentences Examples

1. मैं यह खबर पहले नहीं सुन चुका था।
He had not heard this news before.

2. उसने मुझे बताया कि वह कल दिल्ली नहीं पहुंचा था।
He told me that he had not reached Delhi yesterday.

3. शाम तक वे यहां नहीं पहुंचे थे।
They had not reached here by evening.

Interrogative Sentences of Past Perfect Tense

Past Perfect Tense के प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य Yes-No Type (क्या वाले वाक्य) तथा Wh-word Type Interrogative Sentences को बनाने के लिए सेंटेंस स्ट्रक्चर नीचे दिए गए हैं;

Yes-No Type Interrogative Sentences

Rule: यदि वाक्य ‘क्या’ से शुरू है और उसमें बीच में ‘पहले‘ शब्द आया है तो नीचे दिए गए सेंटेंस स्ट्रक्चर के अनुसार वाक्य को हिंदी से अंग्रेजी में बनाते हैं।

यदि वाक्य ‘क्या’ से शुरू है तथा उसमें ‘बाद’ शब्द आया है, तो नीचे दिए गए सेंटेंसेस स्ट्रक्चर के अनुसार हिंदी से अंग्रेजी मनाते हैं।

Wh-word Type Interrogative Sentences

यदि वाक्य के बीच में कोई प्रश्नवाचक शब्द आया है तो नीचे दिए गए सेंटेंस स्ट्रक्चर के अनुसार वाक्य को हिंदी से अंग्रेजी में ट्रांसलेट करते हैं।

Structure for पहले  –

Structure for बाद  –

• Question words + did + sub + verb I + object + other + after + subject + had + verb III + object + other words +?

Interrogative Negative Sentences

Past Perfect Tense के प्रश्नवाचक नकारात्मक वाक्यों को बनाने के लिए subject के बाद not जोड़ देते हैं। नीचे दिए गए उदाहरण से आप इसे समझ सकते हैं;

Use of Past Perfect Tense in Hindi

Past Perfect Tense का प्रयोग निम्नलिखित कार्यों या घटनाओं के लिए करते हैं। अब आप Past Perfect Tense in Hindi Rules सीखेंगे।

Rule – 1

यदि वाक्य में दो कार्यों का वर्णन है और जो कार्य पहले समाप्त हुआ है उसे Past Perfect Tense में तथा बाद में समाप्त होने वाले कार्य को Simple Past Tense में प्रयोग करते हैं।

जैसे – 1. उसके विद्यालय पहुंचने से पहले घंटी बज चुकी थी।
The well had rang before I reached the school.

2. मेरे जाने के बाद वह आया।
He came after I had gone.

3. जब मैं वहां पहुंचा, पार्टी शुरू हो चुकी थी।
When I reached there, the party had started.

4. ज्यों ही उसने खाना खाया त्यों ही वह बाहर खेलने चला गया।
As soon as he had eaten, he went outside to play.

Rule – 2

कुछ वाक्य ऐसे होते हैं जिनके दो भाग स्पष्ट नहीं होते हैं यानी कि दूसरा कार्य को केवल समझ लिया जाता है। उसमें ऐसा प्रतीत होता है कि एक कार्य दूसरे कार्य के पहले या बाद में समाप्त हो चुका था।

जैसे – 1. वह पहले ही अपना पाठ याद कर चुका था।
He had already learnt his lesson.

2. मोहन ने यह इमारत पहले कभी नहीं देखी थी।
He had never seen this building before

3. मिस्टर शर्मा पहले कभी दिल्ली नहीं गए थे।
Mr. Sharma had not gone to Delhi before.

4. वह पहले ही खाना पका चुकी थी।
She had already cooked the food.

Rule – 3

Direct Speech में Reporting Verb का Tense Past में है और Reported Speech भी Present Perfect Tense में है तो, Indirect Speech में Present Perfect Tense को Past Perfect Tense में बदलते हैं।

जैसे – 1. She said to me, “I have cooked the food.”
She told me that she had cooked the food.

2. They said, “He has broken the chair.”
3. They said that he had broken the chair.

Rule – 4

4. Direct Speech में Reporting Verb का Tense Past में है और Reported Speech भी Past Indefinite Tense में है तो, Indirect Speech में Past Indefinite Tense को Past Perfect Tense में बदलते हैं।

जैसे – 1. Ramesh said, “I built this house in 2002.”
Ramesh said that he had built that house in 2002.

2. I said to him, “Sohan reached New York yesterday.
I told him that Sohan had reached New York the previous day.

Rule – 5

5. Third Conditional Sentences में काल्पनिक तथ्यों का वर्णन करने के लिए If + Past Perfect Tense, Would Have + Verb III के आधार पर वाक्य बनाते हैं।

जैसे – 1. If she had invited me, I would have gone there.
2. Had the girls worked hard, they would have passed.
