4. हमें रात में वहां रुकना पड़ता था।
We had to stay there at night.

जिन वाक्यों की क्रियाओं के अंत में पड़ा, पड़ी, पड़ी, पड़ता था, पड़ती थी तथा पड़ते थे आदि शब्द आते हैं, उनमें had to का प्रयोग करते हैं। Had to का प्रयोग Past Tense की Actions के लिए होता है।

How to make sentences of had to in Hindi

सबसे पहले वाक्य के सब्जेक्ट को रखते हैं।
सब्जेक्ट रखने के बाद had to का प्रयोग करते हैं।
उसके बाद मुख्य क्रिया (main verb) की फर्स्ट फॉर्म रखते हैं।
Object का प्रयोग मुख्य क्रिया के बाद होता है।
यदि वाक्य में ऊपर दिए गए शब्दों के अलावा अन्य शब्द आए वे वाक्य के अंत में रखे जाते हैं।

नीचे दिए गए स्ट्रक्चर के आधार पर वाक्य की संरचना करते हैं।
Structure: Subject + had to + verb I + object + other words

Examples:

1. राजेश को पत्र लिखना पड़ा।
Rajesh had to write a letter.

2. उन्हें कल शाम को इलाहाबाद जाना पड़ा।
They had to go to Allahabad in the evening.

3. रेखा को कमरे साफ करने पड़े।
Rekha had to clean the rooms.

4. उसे खाना पकाना पड़ता था।
She had to cook the food.

5. इस आदमी को सफाई करनी पड़ती थी।
This man had to clean.

Affirmative Sentences of Had to

Sentence structure: Subject + had to + verb I + object + other words

1. डॉक्टर को उसका इलाज करना पड़ा।
The doctor had to treat him.

2. इन मजदूरों को कठिन परिश्रम करना पड़ा।
These laborers had to work hard.

3. बूढ़े व्यक्ति को अकेले सड़क पार करनी पड़ी।
The old man had to cross the road alone.

4. व्यापारियों को हड़ताल करनी पड़ी।
The traders had to go on strike.

5. उन लोगों को मंत्री से बात करनी पड़ी।
They had to talk to the minister.

6. मुझे अपनी घड़ी बेचनी पड़ी।
I had to sell my watch.

7. जगन को राष्ट्रपति से मिलना पड़ा।
Jagan had to meet the President.

8. पुलिस को चोरों को छोड़ना पड़ा।
The police had to release the thieves.

9. उन लोगों को तुम्हारी मदद करनी पड़ी।
They had to help you.

10. उसे परेशानियों का सामना करना पड़ा।
He had to face troubles.

Negative Sentences of Had to

Had to के Negative Sentences बनाने के did not have to का प्रयोग had to के स्थान पर करते हैं।

Structure: Subject + did + not + have + verb I + object + other words

Examples:

1. जानवरों को जंगल से नहीं जाना पड़ा।
The animals did not have to go from the forest.

2. श्याम को अपनी दादी से नहीं मिलना पड़ा।
Shyam did not have to meet his grandmother.

3. उन्हें आपसे बात नहीं करनी पड़ी।
They didn’t have to talk to you.

4. राजेश को अपने दादाजी के साथ दिल्ली नहीं जाना पड़ा।
Rajesh did not have to go to Delhi with his grandfather.

5. बूढ़े व्यक्ति को मदद नहीं मांगने पड़ी।
The old man did not have to ask for help.

6. हमें हवाई जहाज से श्रीलंका नहीं जाना पड़ा।
We didn’t have to go to Sri Lanka by plane.

7. रोहन को बार-बार मुझसे संपर्क नहीं करना पड़ा।
Rohan did not have to contact me again and again.

8. हमें 4:00 बजे तक दिल्ली नहीं पहुंचना पड़ा।
We didn’t have to reach Delhi till 4:00 PM.

9. नेताजी को पार्टी का आयोजन नहीं करना पड़ता था।
Netaji did not have to organize a party.

10. चपरासी को घंटी बजाने नहीं पड़ती थी।
The peon did not have to ring the bell.

Yes-No Type Questions – यदि Interrogative Sentences क्या से शुरू है तो नीचे दिए गए स्ट्रक्चर को फॉलो करते हैं;

6. क्या राजा को युद्ध करना पड़ा?
Did the king have to fight?

7. क्या राजू को अपने गांव से लौटना पड़ा?
Did Raju have to return from his village?

8. क्या वैज्ञानिकों को नए अविष्कार का परीक्षण करना पड़ा?

Wh-word Type Questions – यदि वाक्य के बीच में कोई प्रश्नवाचक शब्द आया है तो नीचे दिए गए स्ट्रक्चर को फॉलो करके had to के प्रश्नवाचक वाक्य बनाते हैं;

Structure: Question word + did + Subject + have to + verb I + object + other words + ?

1. शिकारी को हाथी क्यों पकड़ना पड़ा?
Why did the hunter have to capture the elephant?

2. किसानों को फसल जल्दी क्यों काटनी पड़ी?
