Imperative Sentence (आज्ञा सूचक/आदेश सूचक वाक्य) से आज्ञा, आदेश, निवेदन तथा निषेध का बोध होता है। इन वाक्यों का प्रयोग किसी व्यक्ति को आज्ञा देने या उस से निवेदन करने अथवा किसी कार्य को करने से मना करने के लिए किया जाता है।
जैसे –
1. Come here. (यहां आइए।)
2. Don’t talk. (बातें मत कीजिए।)
3. Please help me. (कृपया मेरी मदद कीजिए।)
4. Never abuse anyone. (कभी किसी को गाली मत दीजिए।)

जो आज्ञा सूचक वाक्य do not/Don’t से शुरू होते हैं तो उन वाक्यों में हिंदी अर्थ मत या नहीं होता है। ये वाक्य Negative Imperative Sentences कहलाते हैं।
