अंग्रेजी में From एक बहुत ही कॉमन शब्द है। फ्रॉम का प्रयोग वाक्यों में Preposition (संबंध सूचक अव्यय) के रूप में होता है। Parts of Speech में Preposition का प्रयोग noun या pronoun से पहले होता है। प्रत्येक प्रयोग में from का अर्थ अलग होता है। From का प्रयोग निम्नलिखित अर्थों में होता है –
भेजने वाले की ओर संकेत करने के लिए from का प्रयोग करते हैं।
जैसे –
1. This is a gift from my parents.
यह उपहार मेरी माता पिता का है।

जब कोई वस्तु या व्यक्ति किसी वस्तु या व्यक्ति या स्थान से अलग (separate) हो तो वहां from का प्रयोग होता है।

चोर जेल से छूट गया।
किसी स्थान या बिंदु की ओर इशारा करने के लिए भी from का प्रयोग करते हैं। ऐसे प्रयोग में from का हिंदी मीनिंग ‘से’ होती है।

2. This bus travels Kanpur to Lucknow. यह बस कानपुर से लखनऊ तक जाती है।
